Monique Alvis
AI Design Lab - App Innovation
Monique Alvis runs the AI Design Lab program within Microsoft’s App Innovation team, where she collaborates with enterprises to envision and create leading AI experiences.
Monique’s journey in AI began as design lead in IBM Watson’s Global Prototyping team in 2014, designing and building early enterprise AI chatbots. Since then, she has consulted on emerging technology, design and innovation, for many of Australia’s largest enterprises, delivered world-first and award-winning applications, and contributed to two AI MedTech startups.
A passionate advocate for a human-centred design for AI, Monique also runs Microsoft’s AI by Design Community, fostering shared learnings and collaboration across Microsoft's customers in ANZ.
Recognised as the Young ICT Professional of the Year by the Australian Computer Society in 2019, she holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Interaction Design and Software Engineering.
